Even though, the killing and selling of parts and products of scheduled animal species is a crime, the underhanded dealings in these areas are still rampant around the world. The main reason for this being lack of evidence against the accused to prove the crime with a criminal beyond a reasonable doubt. One way is to be able to identify and establish whether confiscated samples belong to that of an endangered/protected species of animal so that every wildlife crime is detected objectively and accurately. Based on the finding whether the confiscated samples belong to that of an endangered/protected species of animal, the severity of a Wildlife crime is judged by the Wildlife law enforcement agencies and the judiciaries.
