I had the honour of attending an “International Conference on Climate Change and Global Warming” which was held in the MCM, DAV College, Chandigarh on the November 9, 2010. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji was the chief guest of the conference where as I was the guest of honour. After the speech of Guru Ji Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji, I delivered a brief speech on the state of wild life of India, in which few very thought provoking slides were courtesy Dr Sunil Verma, CCMB, Hyderabad. Guru ji was in a hurry but Principal requested him to kindly listen to my talk. Guru ji stayed and after listening my 10 minutes talk on Help Wild Life and also knowing that how myself and Sunil has thought of making this body, looked me very much impressed. I appealed Guru ji to kindly donate only Rs 1 for the noble cause. Guru ji announced that he will not pay Rs 1. I was a bit shocked but then Guru Ji completed his statement that he will donate not RS. 1 but Rs. 100,000. I was amazed to see his kind gesture and after that Lt. Gen. V.P. Malik (former Chief of the staff, Indian Army) also gave donation.

Who is Dr. Pradeep Srivastava

The fifty- something globe – trotter, known as the “Scientoon man” in the CDRI campus and outside, has achieved quite a feast by fusing complex scientific theories with dollops of humor, a concept reported to be going down well with audiences, whether in Philadelphia or Bangkok, Shimla or Stockholm. His experiments began way back in 1988, says Pradeep K. Srivastava, and were “triggered by the lukewarm response speakers receive at scientific seminars.
